  • Claiming the same credits with two employers at the same time. The form says you cannot claim them again on a second TD1ON for 2026; tick the box and enter 0 on line 10.
  • Using the federal TD1 amounts on the Ontario form. The Ontario amounts are different and are printed on the TD1ON.
  • Including CPP, QPP, OAS or GIS payments in the pension income amount on line 3.
  • Using TD1ON to ask for less tax for RRSP contributions, child care, donations or similar items. The form says to use Form T1213 to get a letter of authority instead.
  • Trying to request extra tax on the TD1ON. The form says to use the Additional tax to be deducted section of the federal Form TD1.
  • Using an old year's form. Use the version for the year you are paid.
  • Not signing and dating the certification.
