Form AR-11 in short
Form AR-11 reports a new address to USCIS. Most noncitizens in the United States must report a move within 10 days. USCIS still accepts the paper form by mail, but it strongly encourages the online change of address tool because paper does not update its systems automatically.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Missing the 10 day reporting window.
- Using a PO box as the present physical address.
- Assuming a USPS change of address updates USCIS. It does not, and USPS will not forward USCIS mail.
- Expecting the paper form to update pending cases right away. USCIS says paper does not give an automated update.
- Not telling the immigration court separately if you are in proceedings. AR-11 does not update the court.
- Sending other forms or fees to the AR-11 address.
- Forgetting to sign.
